Tokyo Smoke posts some strange how-to videos that you should watch
Tokyo Smoke is a Canadian cannabis brand that’s been expanding a lot as legal cannabis spreads across Canada, and this week the company shared some strange how-to videos about some of its most unique products. They are helpful, and they do walk you through how to use some of the company’s wildest offerings — the Heirloom Stack Pipe (with four functions in one) is especially cool — but the tone of these videos is weirdly impersonal and vague for some reason.
While you should watch these videos because they are interesting, they also highlight one of the issues with the cannabis audience growing so quickly — a lot of the knowledge around cannabis is still “secret,” in a way, in that it’s been shared from person to person over years, rather than has come from one clear source. Some people just starting out with the drug might not know something as simple as how to clean a grinder or how to roll a joint. As cannabis grows, this might be the way that someone entering the industry learns how to roll a joint up.
Is that bad? Not necessarily. But this is definitely a strange introduction to the process. And it’s a good reminder that as cannabis spreads out to newly legal areas and states, older and more experienced stoners will need to make sure to protect and pass along that old knowledge that everyone just “knew” back when cannabis was illegal.
