Canadian cannabis celebrates its first birthday (with deals)
Canada legalized cannabis back in June of last year, but it was last October 17 that the bill finally became law, and cannabis claimed its biggest legal market (so far). A year later, there have definitely been some ups and downs, but the world didn’t end, and people didn’t go insane, and cannabis is still legal in the Great White North. Of course, the country is still dealing with a big illegal market, and there’s still a fairly strong stigma around the drug, but legalization has been good for Canada, at least from our perspective here in the US.
And here’s a deal to help you celebrate: Grasscity is offering a Legalization Day sale — you can get a bunch of items in the store (including bongs, pipes, vapes, grinders, and more) for 30% by using the code “CANADA” at checkout. You can grab a can of bong cleaner, get a shiny new aluminium crank grinder, or get this percolating ice bong for 30% cheaper than usual, just to celebrate a year of Canadian cannabis!
And the fun isn’t over yet — edibles are becoming legal in Canada as of today. There is a hitch in that they can’t actually be sold until regulators are notified, which can take up to 60 days, which means they’ll finally hit store shelves in December. If you happened to come across an edible yourself, however, it’s technically legal as of today. Here’s to a great first year of cannabis in Canada, and here’s to many more years of legal cannabis to come, in Canada and everywhere else around the world.
