Grainwave is a THC-infused non-alcoholic beer, coming soon
The Ceria Brewing Company is about to debut a new beverage called Grainwave, but it’s a little different than most. It’s non-alcoholic beer, for one thing, though it tastes like a Belgian-style White Ale (similar to Shock Top or Blue Moon if you’ve ever had that — and in fact, the creator of this beer also helped brew Blue Moon). Instead of alcohol, however, this beer uses a different kind of drug: THC.
That’s right — Ceria’s come up with a beer that offers 5 mg of THC, rather than a pint of alcohol. That’s not quite enough to get you stupid high (especially if you’re a regular cannabis user) but it is enough to give you a nice buzz — just about the place you want to be when you’re hanging out with friends watching a game or having a social night. It’s an interesting idea: Beer without all of the stuff that gets you hungover!
There are two other beers planned apparently: An American lager with only 2.5 mg of THC, and an IPA with a full 10 mg dose (which is about standard for most edibles). It’s a wild idea, and apparently it’s doing pretty well so far, as distributors are having trouble keeping it on the shelf. We haven’t tried one yet, but if we can get our hands on a bottle, we’ll definitely give it a taste test for sure.
