What's Good on Weed this Weekend: Into the Spiderverse, Roma, and more
You’ve made it back to yet another weekend — time to throw off those work clothes, park yourself on the couch, and enjoy some time off before what’s sure to be a busy holiday. In between all of the egg nog and cinnamon this weekend (and any holiday parties you’re hitting up), here’s a few new and mostly new pieces of media to check out while you’re a little checked out.
At the movies, the new animated Spider-Man film, subtitled Into the Spider-Verse, is out, and it’s supposed to be pretty darn good. Not only does it have a great rating online, but it’s got multiple Spider-Men in it, so you know that’s going to be a good time. Plus, the animation is really excellent, and the story is pretty wholesome, so it’s exactly the kind of thing that’s great to see while a little stoned.
Elsewhere on Netflix, Roma is out now. It’s the latest film from acclaimed director Alfonso Cuaron, and it’s supposed to be excellent. Cuaron got actors from real life (including his actual maid) to star in this period piece about Mexico in the 70s, and it’s also been celebrated by critics. It’s about time, too — Netflix’s films have been pretty bad in the past, so hopefully this is the start of a turnaround over there.
Finally, in video games, Ubisoft is having a free weekend this weekend for the racing game The Crew 2. It’s not quite as good as the Forza series, but it has the benefit of allowing you to drive any number of rad cars around, and at a button’s press, you can switch into a plane or a boat whenever you want, enabling you to wander around the entirety of a virtual United States on land, air, or sea. It’s free to play just this weekend, and if you decide to buy the game, you get to keep all of your progress. Definitely worth checking out on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or PC.
And of course this is the weekend for holiday parties, so you probably have plans to hang out with friends or co-workers this weekend. As always, stay safe, but if you want to nibble on an edible before facing off against everybody at the party, we won’t blame you. Have a great weekend, and we’ll see you back here next week!
