Cannabis-related charity gives $100k in goods to the homeless
Holiday Heroes is a charity founded by the CEO of a cannabis grower nutrient company called Advanced Nutrients, and the group made a big difference last week in Los Angeles, offering up $100,000 worth of goods to the homeless population in Los Angeles. Over 50 volunteers filled up 1,500 backpacks with items like ponchos, blankets, socks, soap, and more, and distributed them in places like the LGBT/Youth Center on Highland and the Union Rescue Mission in DTLA. It looks like this is the second year in a row Holiday Heroes has worked to help out in this way.
That's awesome! There's going to be a lot of money made in growing and selling cannabis in California this year, and it's great to see a part of the community ready to give something back! It's too bad we didn't hear about this before it happened, but it looks like the volunteers had fun, and they definitely helped out people who needed it around one of the biggest cities in the world.
If you want to follow Holiday Heroes' other work, you can subscribe to their newsletter on the site. And if you happen to hear about other great acts of charity in the cannabis community, let us know -- we'd be happy to help and/or promote them!
