Rolling Stone picks GG4, Green Crack, Avidekel as their fave strains of 2017
Veteran rock mag Rolling Stone has posted its five favorite strains of 2017, and while these names will almost all be familiar to most dedicated stoners, this is a great list of must-tries if you're just getting started. The strains aren't in any order, as far as we can tell -- they're just five good strains to try.
Gorilla Glue #4 is a no brainer -- it's a favorite around here as well, and if you want to try an "in da couch" indica, it's your best option for sure. Don't plan on doing anything important if you light it up, but do plan on really enjoying whatever happens to be on TV at the time. Green Crack is exactly the opposite -- it's another one we like as well, and it's a very active sativa, keeping you up and happy all day long.
Girl Scout Cookies is an obvious pick. So obvious, in fact, that it's like including Thin Mints on a list of the world's best cookies. Of course they're going to be on there -- they're delicious as all get out! ATF, or Alaskan Thunder Fuck, is a little more of a unique option, and we do enjoy it's excellent sativa-dominant high.
The last pick, Avidekel, is probably the most interesting pick of the bunch, and we haven't tried it yet. It's a CBD-heavy indica, which means it's all about the deep body high, perfect for solving an insomnia problem or calming down indigestion. It's one of the more medical strains, however, so if you're smoking for the fun of it, it might knock you out a little too fast for that.
Still, solid list to show up right at the end of 2017, as legalization is starting to take root around the US. It'll be really interesting to see what these lists look like next year -- you have to think that old standards like Gorilla Glue and Green Crack will be hard to topple, but with cannabis getting so popular, we might see an explosion of different types of strains and tastes. These strains are all well worth a try, and there are probably some more great times ahead!
