What's Good on Weed this Weekend: Godless, Coco, and Taylor Swift streaming

It's Friday once again! Happy Friday everybody! Every Friday here at ES, we'll take a quick look at what's good for watching, listening, and enjoying this weekend, and give you some great recommendations to enjoy while you smoke, toke, or vape up.

In theaters, Coco is blowing up -- it's Pixar's latest, and the Day of the Dead-inspired visuals will probably be a great pairing with an excellent sativa or indica. Murder on the Orient Express is out as well, and the reviews aren't great on it, but just look at Kenneth Branaugh's glorious mustache? Look at it! Who can resist that? No one, I tell you. The reviews are also excellent for Lady Bird -- it's a dramedy directed by Greta Gerwig, and while it's a little more serious and a little less disposable than those other flicks, if you're in for something thoughtful and beautiful, it's one of the best movies of the year.

Over on Netflix, Godless is a brand new western series that's a little intense (so be careful with your weed), but it's definitely a must-see. Speaking of mustaches, Sam Waterston has an excellent soup strainer in the show (and a great wild west accent to go along with it). Jeff Daniels plays a religious gangster type who does all sorts of mean stuff, but there are some badass ladies on the show (including Downton Abbey's Michelle Dockery), and Scoot McNairy plays a really great small town sheriff who starts as a loser and ends up as ... well, you have to watch. There's only seven episodes, and they're totally bingeworthy.

On the music services, the big news is that Taylor Swift's latest album, Reputation, has hit streaming outlets. It's nowhere near as great as her epic 1989, but getting high and dancing around the room to Taylor Swift? Those are good times. U2 also has a brand new album out to listen to if that's your thing, or you could take our recommendation and check out Manchester Orchestra's latest.

And this is some excellent news in the world of video games, though you won't be able to jump in right away this weekend: Jak and Daxter is coming to the PS4. The incredible and gorgeous PS2 platform is perfect for lighting up a joint and just enjoying a beautiful world while collecting all sorts of shiny objects. It doesn't actually show up until December 6, but maybe you can pull out the old PS2 and play it early. Me, I'm still playing the great Stardew Valley on Nintendo Switch, but you can grab it on Steam or the other consoles if you want. It feels so good to hit the vape and hoe a few rows or catch a few fish in the lovely 2D land of Stardew.

There's plenty for your weekend, and as always, you also have the entire great outdoors to enjoy, at least before the winter and snow make it really impossible to head outside. Have yourself a great and safe weekend!
