Chicago is getting a cannabis-based dinner event
This sounds rad (and makes us wish we were back in the Windy City!). A California group called Herbal Notes, with the aim of exploring weed-infused cuisine and to "depart from the stoner culture surrounding cannabis" (hey, that's our goal here too!) is setting up a pop-up restaurant in Chicago. Windy City High -- clever! -- will open on Monday, December 4, and provide a six-course cannabis infused meal, complete with a cannabis-infused cocktail and a micheladas (a type of beer mixer, if you're unaware) from Chicago's Big Mich.
The evening is going to be hosted by Daniel Espinoza, of Chicago's great Lobo Ray taco shop, and Manny Mendoza of Herbal Notes, and it sounds excellent. They say the evening will offer a "communal dinner experience centered around culinary cannabis, genuine relationships and meaningful dialogue." Weed isn't technically legal in Illinois, but as this is a private event (location unannounced), the odds are low that the cops will burst in the door.
Very cool! Unfortunately, tickets are all sold out, but we'll have to keep an eye on Herbal Notes -- hopefully they'll do something like this again soon.
